One of the privileges
of being a publisher is the travel to events that we sometimes get to do.
Recently I had the privilege (and yes, I call it a privilege) to attend the
Pacific Northwest Writer’s Association’s annual summer convention. There is
nothing like having the opportunity to mingle with other publishing
professionals and hearing their ‘take’ on what is happening with the publishing
world these days. But for me, the highlight is meeting some extraordinary
authors and reading their material. I was involved with several grueling pitch
sessions, which were run like speed dating. A new author every three minutes to
pitch their latest book. I was exhausted! But if even half of those people send
in their material as requested, I’ll be pleased.
This month was also a
sad month for us at Champagne .
We had to say goodbye to one of our authors and long time friends, Nan Arnold.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Nan
passed away July 21, 2012. To share her talent and wit, we’ve put her ebooks on
special for the entire month of August.
Check these titles out on our landing page at http://www.champagnebooks.com. You won’t be disappointed.
